Ok. It's 1:30a and I need you to pay attention, because I am about to fall asleep on the keyboard.
Here's the sofa/loveseat:

| Not mine, theirs, but see the walls and floor? Slightly darker. |
And here's MY area rug (pattern):

| The browns in the rosettes are actually just a little more red. |
Blinds/trim are white and staying that way. The LaZboy or however you spell it is a dark taupe-y color. The rest of the furniture is black/blackish.
Your job: Paint color for the walls. Aaaaaaaaaaannnnd: GO!!
Beige. Warm beige, not the green tint or the yellow tiny. Go brown tint. Yep, I am boring but I love can't go wrong beige. ;)
ReplyDeleteAutocorrect had a field day with that one.
ReplyDeleteBut... but we're already brown! I did consider Marshmallow. May still, actually.
DeleteI was also thinking maybe a peachy/pumpkiny color? It would make for a very autumnal room.
Do you see that super light not-white in your rug? That's the color you should use. It's beige-ish. There are lots of shades of beige (trust me, we have about 5 of them in this new house now).
DeleteIt is nice and calm- and much brighter than the "realtor adobe" on the walls now... I mean, I love me some blue but I don't think it would help to brighten things up. And there's the green (I saw a room w/a red sofa and avocado walls), but that's pretty overwhelming, too.
DeleteI like your beige idea. I can incorporate Mike's fave color (green)in a lot better as curtains.
Thanks, V!!
On the screen it comes off kinda grainy grey-beige, which would temper the red nicely. Adding the accents of green and blue will be lovely bit not make the room feel like eternal Christmas.
DeleteI am completely with you here. Thank you so much!!
